Our technology...see the difference

NIDEK RT-5100

Better One or Two?...just got a whole lot better.

This new autophoropter allows Dr. Chan to measure your vision much faster and more accurately than traditional methods.

"I love this technology because the new split cross cylinder allows me to show my patients both options at the same time. It makes it much easier for them to see the differences. Since everything is computerized, I can even switch between the vision in your old prescription and the new prescription with one touch of a button. This is a great tool for comparision." - Dr. Chan

Digital Retinal Imaging

No more eye drops!

This technology allows us to see your retina with unbelievable detail and the best part is we can take most pictures without the need for dilation eye drops. This means you can drive home, go back to work or school or simply just continue with the rest of your day without the inconvenience of being dilated.

"I have been so impressed with the images from our new retinal camera. Since the images are captured so quickly, I can review the results with you immediately. This is really the next generation of eye health care." - Dr. Chan

Digital Biomicroscope Imaging

A picture is worth a thousand words.

Our slit lamp biomicroscopes are fully digital and allow us to capture live images and videos of your eyes during your eye exam. Basically, if it is in your eye, we can take a picture of it.

"Rather than just telling you that you have a cataract, now I can show it to you too. This allows us to digitally document the exact condition of your eye. This is far better than just writing it down on a piece of paper. " - Dr. Chan

Corneal Ultrasound

Quick, easy, painless.

This is the new standard of care in glaucoma screening. This test allows us to determine your eye pressure with far greater accuracy than before.

"We now know that checking for glaucoma without knowing the thickness of your cornea is almost useless. Ultrasound is a key component in making the right diagnosis." - Dr. Chan

Ultraviolet detector & Lensmeter

Safety and precision.

This technology can determine if the lenses in your glasses are providing proper protection from ultraviolet rays from the sun. It also uses a laser to measure the exact prescription in your current pair of glasses. This information is instantly uploaded into our computers for analysis.

"Ultraviolet radiation from the sun can be harmful to our skin, but it is easy to forgot that our eyes need protection too. We know that ultraviolet radiation is linked to several eye diseases that can cause blindness." - Dr. Chan

What else do we have?

  • We are a "paperless" office. We document everything with electronic medical records (EMR). This allows us to generate reports to your family doctor or specialists very quickly.
  • Autorefractor - this is a computerized measurement that determines how light is focusing inside your eye.
  • Non-contact tonometer - this is the "air-puff" test that is used in glaucoma screening before you see the doctor.
